Caption: Hoffa names successor -- Frank E. Fitzsimmons, background, will take over leadership of the Teamsters Union if James R. Hoffa, foreground, goes to jail, Hoffa said today in Baltimore, Md. Hoffa is president of the union and was ordered today to begin serving an eight-year prison sentence Tuesday. Hoffa and his heir are shown during Teamsters convention last July in Miami Beach, Fla. Fitzsimmons then was elected general vice president.
