Caption: Red, white and view The unique talents of steeplejacks Norm (Spider) Webb (pictured) and Dan MacNall put them atop almost every skyscraper in the Detroit area.The Walled Lake team added the 40-story Guardian Building - along with the tallest flagpole in Michigan - to their list last week.For three days, MacNall and Webb scraped, cleaned, primed and painted the 123-foot, 7.5 ton pole.To top it off, Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., which owns the building, plans to fly a new 20-by-30-foot flag from the newly painted pole almost 500 feet above the sidewalk.
