Caption: ELECTED TO BANK BOARD--Esther G. Edwards, wife of state representative George H. Edwards, has been elected to the board of directors of Bank of Commonwealth in an announcement by bank president Arthur F.P. Synder. Mrs. Edwards is one of the first black women in the nation to serve on the board of a major bank.
