Description
The Shelby County Youth Attention Lodge, for Children in Need of Supervision (CHINS), finally opened this week, according to District Court Judge William Hill, one of the chief backers of the project. Hill said the home, which will be a temporary haven for runaway youths or those forced out of their homes, will be officially dedicated with ceremonies sometime in early April. Larry Acton, director of Shelby County Youth Aid Bureau, is manager of the home, which is located on County Road 26, a short distance from Alabama Highway 119 and Thompson High School.
