Description
Mrs. Robert Hinds, president of the Women's Auxiliary to the Birmingham Humane Society, presents the William O. Stillman Award to Tom Heflin to deliver to Honey, the cocker spaniel he gave to his parents U.S. Senator and Mrs. Howell Heflin. The award is a national citation presented periodically by the American Humane Association for outstanding bravery. Honey drove burglars from the Heflin apartment by her strenuous barking, even though she had been struck in the head and was bleeding profusely.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 05-15-1980.
