H.R. McDaniel South Central Bell. South Central Bell Telephone Co. Used a wheelbarrow to pay its Madison County taxes thursday. The company delivered $741,211.57-in cash-to the Madison COunty tax collector in Huntsville. It was a payment for the company's 1976 ad valorem taxes, the largest single property tax payment ever received by Madison County.
