Description
Crime - Vandalism. What was once a 100-foot microwave communications tower now may be only so much scrap metal. Workmen struggled this week to remove the wreckage of the Alabama Power Co. tower near Brantleyville after someone apparently pulled retaining pins from the guy wires of the structure, causing it to fall. Power company officials estimate the cost of the damage at $100,000-125,000. Alabama Power and Shelby County Sheriff's Department investigators were still searching for clues Monday.

Photo measures 8.75 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 02-03-1977.
