Alabama-The Valley East Industrial Park, the City of Birmingham's first major industrial park, was opened today. The 120-acre tract of land is in east Birmingham in the 3400 block of Pinson Valley Parkway. The purpose of the park is to produce 900 jobs over the next five years. Attending the opening were Mayor Richard Arrington, left, Jack Alexander, president of the Metropolitan Development Board, center, and George Little, president of the Pinson Valley Association, a group of area industrial leaders.
