2 Alabama authors, Virginia Pounds Brown, author of the Gold Disc of the Coosa, and Katheryn Tucker Windham, who wrote Alabama: One Big Front Porch, were given special recognition during the annual meeting of the Alabama Library Association in Montgomery. George Stewart, deputy director of the Birmingham Public Library was installed as president of the state-wide association.
