Acting Chief Jack Warren last week commended agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and National Auto Theft Bureau for their contributions to a sharp decline in Birmingham auto thefts over the last year. Top officials from the agencies flew here to witness the award ceremony. Crimes Against Persons commander Tommy Rouse said the FBI and ABI's work leading to the conviction of one of the South's leading "chop shop" operators cut at the heart of thefts.
