Skulls Arrow indicates a broken spearpoint buried in a bison skull found at the bottom of a northern Florida river. The evidence points to a confrontation with a hunter some 11,000 years ago, when the site was dry land. Although the fragment of chipped stone penetrated as much as three quarters of an inch, scientists do not believe it delivered the fatal blow. It could have been thrust into the skull just after the animal's death. Three other skull fragments were found nearby.
