Description
Memorial honors War II dead. Kiwanis Club Monument lists 1,131 names. Just as monuments have been erected locally for heroes of other American locally for heroes of other American wars from the Revolution on. It is only fitting that there should be such a memorial put up for men who lost their lives during World War II to preserve our liberties. An important one stands on the triangular corner where S. Calina, E. Onondaga and Harrison Streets come together. It carries the Honor Roll for heroic dead of that late desperate struggle. Under letterhead of the letterhead of the Kiwanis Club of Syracuse, Inc., an approved document, this is referred to as the Syracuse and Onondaga County War Memorial, but it is still popularly known as the Kiwanis Club War Memorial.
