1942 Press Photo Eugene Levine Confessed To Attacking More Than 100 Women

Eugene Levine, second from left, 31 year old Brooklyn father of a small daughter who confessed to attacking more than 100 women, stands before Judge Louis Goldstein in Kansas County Court in NY May 25 before being sentenced to a minimum term of 82 years and 6 months or a maximum term of 155 years on 22 counts in five indictments which he had pleaded guilty. At the left is his lawyer, Julius Schwan. Behind him are court attendants Levine was charged with assault, robbery, rape and larceny. He broke down and wept as Judge Goldstein, in sentencing him, expressed regret that he could not impose the death penalty under the law.
