William Bullitt, United States Ambassador to Russia, on leave from his post for an indefinite period was photographed in the state department today (August 18) as he assumed duties of his new post as Consultant on Special Work. He will perform was not disclosed, but it is understood that he will be assigned on it for several months. Mr. Bullitt denied that he would engage in any political activities.
