Labor Secretary Lewis B. Schwellenbach, left went on record today against the GOP's revised case bill and warned the Senate Labor Committee that banning the closed shop and industry wide bargaining would bring "industrial strife" instead of Labor Peace. Senator Joseph Ball (R) of Minn., center and Committee Chairman Robert Taft (R) of Ohio, right, authors of the pending Ball-Taft-Smith revision of the case bill, are shown with the secretary who was called before the Labor Group to discuss the proposed new Federal Mediation Board and other Strike-Control proposals.
