Cherberg, the state's new lieutenant governor, accepts the gavel he will use as a president of the State Senate from his predecessor, Emmett T. Anderson, right. Cherberg was sworn into office today along with Governor Albert D. Rosellini in a joint meeting of the House and Senate.
