Sandburg, Carl (Poet-Historian) A study of Carl Sandburg. Poet-Historian Carl Sandburg talked recently before a black-tie audience in Washington. This is how he looked just before the performance, in which he read poetry and made comments on the times. Cabinet members were among the audience of 800. Washington -- Sandburg -- Camera study of Poet-Historian Carl Sandburg as he arrived tonight at the new State Department auditorium in Washington for "An Evening With Carl Sandburg." A black-tie audience of about 800, including members of the Cabinet, heard a program of readings, poetry, comments on the times and folk songs by Sandburg.
