Mrs. Francis G. Powers. Husband held in Moscow. Mrs. Francis Powers leaves the Soviet Embassy in Washington yesterday after an appeal for a visa to see her pilot husband who is being held prisoner in Russia as a spy. With her is W. P. Dickson Jr., president of the Virginia State Bar Association, one of the lawyers who accompanied Mrs. Powers on the visit to the embassy. Powers is the American pilot of the U-2 plane which was brought down May 1 in Russian territory. U-2 pilot's wife Barbara Powers & W P Dickson Jr at embassy, DC.
