Description
Mrs. Louis E. Crawford, left above, is shown with Mrs. Zeno Crawford, nurse in the Pearl River neighborhood, who is caring for the new-born baby left at the Crawford cabin by a dog last night. Below, left, is the cabin with a crowd of the curious on the lean-to porch and right is the baby - Moses - none the worse, with its new clothes. Authorities today were searching the roads from Slidell to Bogalusa for a man and a woman hitchhiker last seen carrying a young baby and accompanied by a brindle dog, and suspected of being the parents of the new born baby left last night by a similar dog, wrapped in a piece of light gray blanket and whimpering with cold, in the clearing at the cabin home near Pearl River of Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Crawford. Police Chief P.A. Saxon of Slidell early this morning sent out Deputy Sheriff Clarence Crawford, distant relative of Louis Crawford, to pick up the trail of the couple.
