Washington. Senator Edmund Muskie, D-ME, discusses a Senate vote that overrode President Nixon's veto of a $24.6 billion bill aimed at ridding America's waters of all pollution by 1985. Muskie led the fight early Wednesday to override Nixon's veto. The vote was 52 to 12, nine more than the two-thirds majority required. The House is expected to vote on overriding Wednesday afternoon.
