1968 Press Photo NFO farmers donate hogs to Waldock Packing Company to feed poor

Penned await slaughter at the Waldock Packing Company here Wednesday are some of the 1,004 hogs contributed by the National Farmers Organization of northern Ohio to feed Cleveland poor. Originally, the NFO planned to destroy the hogs to force market prices up. Behind the sign are three farmers who were among those contributing the pork--Tom Wirkner of Helena, Kenneth Buck of Gibsonburg and Merle Hershey of Orrville.
