Claude Kirk the first Republican governor to be elected in Florida in 94 years, waves the victory sign to his supporters at his campaign headquarters in a Hollywood, Florida hotel. Standing just left of Kirk is his mother (glasses) who will be the new first lady of Florida. Kirk beat Democrat Robert King High of Miami for the office.
