Description
June 10: Louis Fierro greeted the father-in-law of the doctor who sent him to Houston's St. Luke's Hospital for treatment. Neither the doctor nor Fierro knew he would receive a new heart at the time. Three weeks after the operation, when this picture was taken, Dr. Denton Cooley, head of the surgical team, said Fierro was "doing the best of all my (five) transplants."
