1966 Press Photo Marvin L. Wright, U.S. Navy, Receives $5,000 Reenlisting Bonus

Marvin L. Wright (center), engineman third class, wears a $5,000 smile as he reenlists in the Navy for six years. He received $5,594 as a bonus for reenlisting. Paying off Wright with cash is chief disbursing Clerk John Leggett (left). Navy recruiter chief Rodney Richardson looks on. Wright received the cash under the Navy's new variable reenlistment bonus program which is designed to retain Navy men in key ratings. the payment was made Wednesday at the Naval support Activity in Algiers.
