Jose Luis Aparicio (right), consul general of Spain in New Orleans, accepts a portrait of the Spanish governor of Louisiana. Don Alejandro O'Reilly , which Aparicio will present to the Cabildo. Making the presentation in Madrid, Spain, is Spanish writer Alfonso de la Serna (left), director general of the Cultural Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Spanish government. The portrait was painted by the Marchioness of O'Reilly, a descendant of the Spanish governor. Aparicio is in Spain arranging for the donation by Spain of the plaza for the new International Trade Mart Tower.

Photo is dated 1964.
