Shouted remarks and a pointed finger are directed at photographer Laurens Pierce (right) by Deputy Marshal E.P. Miller outside the Federal Building in Meridian, Mississippi, where 18 white men are on trial charged with conspiracy in the killing of three civil rights workers in 1964. Miller ordered Pierce to keep his camera equipment off a one-block area surrounding the Federal Building.

Photo is dated 1967.
