1970 Press Photo Five Students of the Soviet Union Nursery in Moscow, Russia

At a Soviet nursery in Moscow, author was greeted by five youngsters who proceeded to recite poem each had composed. Though the soviet society differs substantially from our own, it faces similar problems as an industrialized nation with highly developed systems of technology, education and mass communication. Given the fragmented character of modern American life its growing separatism and violence - a look at the rather different Soviet approach to the upbringing of the young is not without significance to our problems.
