1977 Press Photo Cervantes Society Tomb at St. Louis Cemetery Number 1

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Given the degree to which death and what might be thereafter dominated Egyptian culture, it is by no means surprising that the influence of the Land of Tutankhamen found its most frequent expression in the city's cemeteries. Local examples of obelisks include Cervantes Society monument in St. Louis Cemetery Number 1, left, and Davilla tomb in St. Louis Cemetery Number 3.
