The 35-year-old New Orleans Speech and Hearing Center has purchased an uptown building for the consolidation of its diagnostic and treatment operations. Doctor Suzanne Schaefer, president of the center's board, said the nonprofit, private institution has purchased the former Uptown Medical Center at 1636 Toledano, corner Carondelet for $123,500.
