Johann Strauss, Jr. (Horst Bucholz) reflects the tension of the moment as he makes his debut as a conductor. Musical triumphs and romantic conquests of the waltz king have been captured on film for the Andrew L. Stone production "The Great Waltz," being presented this fall by MGM. Horst Bucholz, Mary Costs, Nigel Patrick and Yvonne Mitchell star in the story of the immortal Johann Strauss which was filmed where it happened in beautiful Vienna and Salzburg. Rossano Brazzi guest stars. Lyrics and musical adaptations based on themes by Johann Strauss and sons are by Robert Craig Wright and George Forrest. Choreography is by Onna White. Andrew L. Stone wrote, produced and directed "The Great Waltz" in Metrocolor. Horst Bucholz conducts the proceedings in "The Great Waltz" as he enacts the composer Johann Strauss.
