1952 Press Photo Scaffold for ice free mechanism repairs at Juneau Park lagoon

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
A scaffold has been built over the south end of the Juneau Park lagoon so repairs can be made to the mechanism which keeps a large part of the lagoon ice free in winter. A grill will be raised from the water for the replacement of some pipes. The grill houses an air compressor system which pumps air through the water and keeps the water moving.

Photo is dated 1952.

Photo measures 11 x 9.25 inches.
