Three lifeboats were at the stern of a Japanese patrol boat after 59 crewmen of a Chinese Freighter were taken aboard The 11,432 ton freighter Leap Forward sank in the Yellow sea. The Chinese claim that it was torpedoed. Officials of the Japanese maritime agency said the ship might have hit a rock before sinking. Ships in Distress Leap Forward
