Prisoners kneeled along wall in corridor of Rome's Regina Coeli Prison to hail Pope John XXIII as the pontiff visited the institution on December 26, 1958. Inmates knelt before Pope John when he made a surprise visit to a Rome prison in 1958. Said the Pope: "You couldn't come to see me, so I came to see you."
