January 22-Adenauer at papal audience--Pope John XXIII chats with West Germany's Chancellor Konrad Adenauer in the Pontiff's private library at the Vatican today. Dr. Werner Rautenberg, center, a member of the Adenauer party, acts as interpreter for the 84-year-old German leader and the 78-year-old ruler of the Roman Catholic Church. Pope John implored God's "choicest graces and consolations for the noble German nation" at the official audience.
