Description
Six foot waves boiled up 15 feet downstream Thursday after sliding over a dam in the center of Des Moines, Iowa. The flood crest of 30.19 feet was the highest in the records of the city. The river was expected to be back in its banks -- the 23 foot stage -- Saturday. Engineers were confident that key dikes would hold. Floods-Iowa
