Description
Los Angeles: The Chipmunk Man-Singer Ross Bagdasarian, the hottest man in the record business with his singing chipmunks, listens to the playback from a tape recorder today as he experimented with new recorded sounds. Bagdasarian, who grew up on a Fresno, California, vineyard, sang all the parts and conducted the orchestra for "Witch Doctor," "Chipmunk Song" and "Alvin's Harmonica." He was also the writer, arranger and co-publisher. Bagdasarian, who uses the name David Seville, on the records, achieves the chipmunk sound by re-recording at double speed.
