Seattle: Final Voyage For USS Alabama-The battleship USS Alabama, shown in this aerial view taken June 16 of this year while enroute to a Seattle shipyard to be prepared its trip to Mobile, Alabama, is scheduled to begin its final voyage today. The 35,000-ton World War II veteran will be towed by a pair of tugs on a six week trip through the Panama Canal and up the Atlantic Coast to Mobile where it will be enshrined. Alabamans are raising $1 million to bring the ship to Mobile as a memorial. Ships
