About to hit the trail to Santa Fe and other Southwestern cities, Conductor Walter Susskind gets his collar turned up by Mrs. Susskind just before boarding one of the Houston Symphony Orchestra's touring buses. It was a chilly day in Houston Monday when the orchestras set out on its annual tour and the weather is much colder in the West Texas and New Mexico cities which the ensemble will visit.

Photo is dated 1958.
