1966 Press Photo Town Houses in revitalized Philadelphia - hcx17415

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Town houses, above, by architects I.M. Pei & Associates, helped to revitalize a decaying area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A Houston ordinance, requiring that houses be set back at least 20 feet from the sidewalk, would have to be altered before such houses could be built here. Shops, offices, apartments and town houses would rise where Westheimer and Montrose Boulevard intersect.

Photo is dated 1966.

Photo measures 7.5 x 9.5 inches.
