1973 Press Photo Map shows thrust of Israeli forces toward Cairo and Suez Canal

Map shows the three pronged thrust of Israeli forces from bridgehead based near Deversoir, just north of the Great Bitter Lake in Egypt. One thrust, to the North, appeared aimed at Ismailia. A second, to the West, placed Israeli forces within 50 miles of Cairo Sunday. The third advance was proceeding toward Suez, the Suez Canal's port, linking Egypt with the Red Sea. Middle East War
