Washington, D.C. - Lieutenant General Maxwell D. Taylor uses a map of the Orient, talking to newsmen at the Pentagon today after the Army announced he would succeed General James. A. Van Fleet as 8th Army Commander in Korea. Taylor is the present Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Administration of the Army. The Army said Van Fleet will be retired March 31.
