Marking up the score he made on the rifle range at Camp Mathews, California, is Corporal Charles R. Harris, a photo-engraver for the Houston "Post." Harris and his Marine Corps Reserve unit, Houston's 6th Infantry Battalion, are undergoing two weeks field training at Troop Training Unit, Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, California. The picture above was taken during their three day period of marksmanship training at the rifle range, located approximately 16 miles north of Coronado. Harris is the son of George A. Harris, also a photo-engraver, of 4102 Antoinette in Houston, Texas, with whom he resides.

Photo is dated 1953.
