Houston-Bishop ordains new Methodist Deacon. Bishop Kenneth Copeland (second from right) of the Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church this week ordained new deacons for the church. Part of the ceremony, which was held in conjunction with the annual conference which met Monday through Thursday in Houston, involved the bishop actually laying his hands on the new deacon's head. In the ceremony, Copeland was joined by Bishop Roy C. Nichols (second from left), resident bishop of the Pittsburgh Area Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference, and an unidentified minister.
