Description
Yolanda Jolivette, 12, an eighth grader at Washington Junior-Senior High School, tries out the bicycle she won in a contest to name the city's summer recreation program for children who live in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Her suggestion, which was adopted, was Operation PAL (Progress, Action and Leisure). The program is administered by the Harris county Community Action Association (Assn.) Mayor Louie Welch presented the bike Friday at Kress-Lyons Park. She would not ride it and mayor left 20 minutes before it arrived. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Jolivette, 714 Jerry.
