1969 Press Photo Texas Southern University President swears in student justices

Texas Southern University President Granville M. Sawyer, right foreground, swears in the justices of the first student court at TSU. Taking the oath as chief justice is James Bullock, a law student. Associate justices, from left in background, are: Paul Adams and Cornelius Long, students; Lewis Morris, assistant professor of general business; Willie Robinson and Ray Williams, students. The five student justices were chosen by the student council and the faculty justices were appointed by Sawyer. The court will hear cases of university rules infractions.
