1967 Press Photo Los Angeles hotel with no stairs or elevator, and no visitors

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Since 1933, a Los Angeles woman has been paying taxes on an 8-story hotel without having a single guest - because when her father built the structure he didn't bother to install stairs or elevators and there is no way to get into any of the upper rooms. Up until now the cost of destroying the hotel has been prohibitive, but the owner hopes she may soon find a solution. Hotels
