Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona gets a reassuring pat on the check from his 16-year-old daughter, Peggy Margaret, after he told a news conference in Chicago today that he and Gov. Nelson Rockefeller had been eliminated as vice presidential possibilities. Goldwater said he understood presidential candidate Richard Nixon had narrowed the field for a running mate to Sen. Thruston B. Morton of Kentucky, Henry Cabot Lodge and a third person he declined to name.
