Judge John Marshall Harlan, center, President Eisenhower's nominee to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, talks with senators Arthur Watkins, left, and John Marshall Butler today. harlan is here for the opening of hearing on the nomination by the Senate Judiciary committee. He is a Federal Circuit Court Judge in New York. Although they have the same first and second names, the judge and butler are not related.
