San Francisco, California, August 25---Yankee Chipper in New Role--Joe DiMaggio, left, shown with his new employer, V.H. Monette, after announcement here today of his acceptance of a job that will pay him better than his top baseball salary, which has been quoted as $100,000 a year. DiMaggio, who retired from the New York Yankees after the 1951 season, said he will be executive vice president of the V.H. Monetee company, of Smithfield, Virginia, which represents 55 manufacturers, mostly food processors, dealing with the armed forces. He will maintain offices in New York.
