Description
Gluckmann, Peter (Pilot). Peter Gluckmann is shown beside his extensively modified J-35 Bonanza in which he is attempting to break the existing small plane distance record of 7668.48 miles. Gluckmann, the 34-year-old "Flying Watchmaker" from San Francisco, hopes to solo non-stop Hong Kong to the western United States E” a distance of more than 8000 miles. Lubricated with Bardahl additive oils, the plane will leave the Far East sometime between April 10 and May 1 when weather conditions are most favorable. Where he lands in the United States of America will again depend on the weather as he will select a landing site blessed with favorable tail winds.
